Randy: Check it out, David, I knew. I was a little worried about tonight, because you know boys singing girl songs and all that kinda stuff, and you probably picked one of the toughest ones 'cause that was a great duette with Mariah and Whitney, right? But dude, I gotta tell you something. I say it everytime: if you can sing, you can sing anything. YOU can sing anything. That was the bomb, baby!
Paula: It must feel great for Mariah to hear your interpretation in this song and I know she was beaming 'cause you made her proud, very proud.
Simon: I have to agree. I would've bet a million dollars on you choosing that song in advance. I just knew that was the one from the opening line. I thought it was very, very good. I don't think we're in for a lot of laughs tonight though, but you know, atleast you're smiling! You set the benchmark. I think the guys are gonna have an easier time tonight than the girls because there's not the comparison. But you sang it very well. Actually I had a number one with that record in the UK at Christmas time, so I do know the song very well and I have to tell you, you performed that very well.

Randy: Check it out dude, check it out. What is really cool is that you're exactly what this shows about. If you can sing, you can sing anything. I knew this would be a big night for you and you even put your own personality into it, with a few Stevie riffs here and there. Dude, it was the bomb! This boy's the one to beat!
Paula: I think it was absolutely perfect, David, I do. And the reason why I think it's perfect is you took a risk on a known theatrical song and were quite able to turn it into a pop ballad. I think that's perfect.
Simon: David, uh I thought it was pleasant - one of your weakest performances over the live shows. It's just not one of those performances you're ever really gonna remember. It's absolutely gonna get you through to next week, but it was all a bit forgettable for me, sorry.

Randy: Yo dude, all is I can say man, for a young man, dude, you were definitely in the zone right now. Another good performance baby!
Paula: This was the absolute perfect song for you to sing. David, your voice is so on point, I just want to see that joy and that spirit and prodigy. I love you, you were brilliant. Have fun!
Simon: Well David, that was a smart choice of song. I've gotta hand it to you! That was clever! It ticked the boxes, didn't it? I mean, your audience are gonna - it means it was absolutely the right choice. Check, check, check! Very good!

Randy: David, check it out baby. What I am so happy about sitting here right now, there's 4 of you left, atleast theres 1 guy who hits the stage, everytime he hits the stage, trying to win the whole thing! Hello! This is a competition! Putting all the best vocals on the line, he brought the hot man vocals, Paula. Everytime! I love that dude, it was hot!
Paula: You know we all forget that you are way beyond your years, hunny. Being 17 in this competition, it's hard. It's really hard what you guys are doing. And I really admire one thing - I admire lots of things - but I do really admire though is, a couple weeks ago Mr. Andrew Lloyd Webber said "communicate with your eyes" 'cause the audience wants to feel the same joy that you're feeling on that stage. And you delivered, you really delivered on this, and you're taking in everythat that we're saying, good and bad, and throwing out what you don't need, and you're seasoned already.
Simon: Well the truth is David, you could've whistled a song and it would've sounded better than the last song. (Referring to Jason Castro) You were very well placed! Very good choice of song, I thought you struggled a little bit at the end of it, little bit. But look, okay, in the grand scheme of things, I'm gonna call that as the best performance so far.

Randy: Check it out baby. Another great performance for you. I liked how you were so tender and you caressed each word. Dude you got it going on right now. The hot vocals of the night right there!
Paula: That was one of my favorite performances by you. I felt it, I felt your heart, it was fantastic and very beautiful.
Simon: David, you didn't beat the competition tonight, you crushed it!

Randy: David, check it out baby. You know what man? You know what I'm really happy for you at this moment, Paula chose a dope song for you. I mean you can sing anything dude. The Billie Joel thing works well on you. I would love you singing, playing the piano you know like him singing it. It don't even matter dude, you are in the zone. You're in it to win it baby!
Paula: I gotta tell you David, it was a pure and stunning performance. And tonight, I really felt that you were a storyteller, you really were. It was a beautiful performance.
Simon: Yeah it was very good. You know, no surprises, bit predictable. It's not really a criticism, it was good. I don't think it was outstanding, it was good.

Randy: David, check it out baby. Alright so, I applaud the fact that you're trying something new and young 'cause I think that's really the kind of record you should make, but I'm not sure that was the right song. Seeing you singing "my boo" was like, I didn't believe it! I couldn't believe it.
Paula: David, I think it sits perfect right in the right tone of your voice. I really think you should be singing songs like this, I think you're so used to singing ballads, but this is another part of who you are. I would work on just getting more right into the, not extending the phrases and just shortening it up a bit. I think you did a great job!
Simon: David, I applaud you that you didn't do a very shreakly ballad, which I would've expected. However, it was a little bit like a chihuahua trying to be a tiger. In so much as, it's not really you. I thought it was all a bit awkward, the dancing.

Randy: So once again, interesting song choice for me for you. But listen dude - you could sing the phonebook - it doesn't matter, you're in the zone vocally. It was another hot one from you! Hot hot hot!
Paula: It was a lovely performance David. I expect nothing more. It was just very lovely.
Simon: You know David look. I'm not going to criticise you because I think you sang the song very well. However, I thought the song and the lyrics was absolutely horrible. I mean it was so gooey, it is gooey! You know it's something you choose for like a 90 year old and you're 17 years old. Having said that, I do think you've done enough to get into Finals next week.

Randy: David, check it out baby. It doesn't matter what happens, right now you gotta know one thing. This is one of the best performances of this whole season and you picked the right time to peak baby! That was flawless and unbelievably molten hot! Hot, crazy vocals! Crazy vocals, crazy!
Paula: I gotta tell you, my hearts still pounding David. I've got chills up and down my arms. I gotta tell ya, the sun is never gonna go down on you because you bring out so much sunshine in everyone throughout the whole world with your singing. David that was a beautiful, beautiful stunning performance. I'm so excited, tonight is unbelievable!
Simon: Okay, okay, okay. It's very easy to get over excited tonight. David, I'm gonna be honest with you. I thought last week you were OK, I thought tonight's performance was arguebly the best you've done so far. Taking everything into account, Round 1 goes to Archuleta.

Randy: David, right now, once again for me the song ehh I wasn't crazy about the song, but here's the deal man. Right now, you are so in the zone dog that you could sing the phonebook and it'd be good so that was another hot performance. You're in the zone baby.
Paula: It's just another heartfelt performance, it doesn't matter what song you're singing. It's like you're on fire tonight, it's pure magic. And you know what? That is why you are in the spot that you're in in the finals my dear, so congratulations.
Simon: I love the egotistical lyric. Fantastically self-centered! You definitely, definitely chose the better song there. Much more in keeping with the night. Round 2 goes to David Archuleta!

Randy: David Archuleta. I'm really happy and proud that it's the two Davids standing on the stage 'cause we thought all season would come down to this. Dude, you are so good tonight, you are exactly what this show is about! Finding the best singer we can find, and the best singer season 7 is right there!
Paula: It's the culmination David, and you've left me speechless as I was when I first heard you sing this song. You were stunning tonight. This is what it's all about, David.
Simon: You know, we've taken a little bit of stick this year in the competition but at the end of the day, this show is about finding a Star. And tonight, I think we've witnessed one the great finals. But, here's the difference. In my opinion, David, you came out here tonight to win, and what he have witnessed is a knockout!
